Our commitment to the safety and security of our passengers is fundamental to daily operations at Sunwest. We meet or exceed all Transport Canada regulations regarding commercial aircraft operations and have implemented a proven Safety Management System (SMS) that includes:

A full time Director of Safety reporting directly to the President and CEO.
A daily review of all safety issues with senior management.
A computer based Hazard Identification Tracking System with mandatory solutions and implementation.
A Sunwest Safety Committee with representatives from all departments.
A highly qualified pilot staff that attends initial and recurrent annual training on state of the art full flight simulators.

Sunwest continues to prove our commitment to safety leadership by successfully maintaining our safety certifications year after year.

We operate to the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations and we are an IS-BAO Stage III operator.

We continuously maintain a Platinum rating from ARGUS International, the global leader in due diligence for commercial aviation operators.

And we are regularly audited by Contrail Aviation Safety Ltd. on behalf of many clients to ensure we meet their guidelines and those of the IOGP.

ARGUS charter operator ratings are the industry’s most respected, recognized, and requested symbol of the highest quality commercial operators around the world.

The ARGUS Ratings due diligence system offers commercial operators and charter customers around the world the confidence and peace-of-mind desired for their upcoming flight.

The International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO™) is designed to promote use of high quality operating practices for international business aircraft operations. The program is based on International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards that prepare the operator for both domestic and international operations

Sunwest is member of the Flight Safety Foundation, which was developed to protect everyone who benefits from air travel, everywhere in the world. The Foundation is an international non-profit organization exclusively chartered to provide impartial, independent, expert safety guidance and resources for the aviation and aerospace industry.
